![]() This a rougelike game, even if you should always be moving, when you come across a lunar item, a shrine of order, or a 3D printer for the first time you don't just instantly sprint over and grab it. I'm only stating the obvious, that people are seeing something unfamiliar and different, and then choosing to not take even a second to investigate what the differences might change. I am completely floored by your eloquence and ability to argue complex yet well thought out points. ![]() Missing it once or twice is understandable, but the number of people missing it across so many different runs leads me to think many players are just intentionally refusing to actually interact with the game as it is designed. While it isn't perfectly fitting, the quote of "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" seems relatively apt here. There are so many things that keep hinting "hey maybe investigate this a bit" that somehow keep getting missed. I'm not saying everyone should instantly understand what to do the first time they reach stage 5, but take a look back through the sub's post history after the Moon was added, and there is an insane number of people who had done like 4+ runs and still didn't notice it at all. While there aren't that many notifications that happen in the box during gameplay, surely noticing that "The message box is suddenly visible when it otherwise isn't at the start of stages, and why is it mentioning where the teleporter is aiming?" is going to make people investigate a little more thoroughly. Even on Monsoon runs there are still lulls in the situation that would give you 5-10 seconds to take a look around.Īnd regardless of all else, you get a message in the chatbox mentioning the teleporter. Of course if you are trying to investigate in the middle of a heated battle you wouldn't notice, but once things calm down some the only orange-ish particle effects that could blend in might be the Mushrums AOE. Maybe the more observant players will even notice how the spikes are fashioned in a way so that, as seen when you shift the teleporter, they can move to resemble the two prongs better, but that's just extra. ![]() It's so completely different, that wouldn't you want to take a closer look at "Why is the prong design gone?" and check around the new prongs a bit. Plus on top of that, you need to walk through the rings to even reach the teleporter activator, did no one really think to turn the camera as you walk through to see what the other side of the prongs looks like?Įven just in general shape, the normal teleporters look like they have two large prongs, whereas the Primordial teleporter has a ring around it. I can't can't imagine that anyone playing through the game is going to have managed to stack up so many goat hooves or red whips by that point that normal walking speed is so high they won't ever get a chance to notice. Taking a few seconds to walk around and investigate the "Weird new design" is more than likely going to get you to notice something. While fair points that the range is rather low, my point is that "running straight up to the teleporter" is the mistake people are making.
